Emma Lee Moss (1916-1993) Born in central Tennessee, Emma Lee Dunlop Moss began painting in the 1950's, using paints that belonged to her employer's children. After marrying Tucker Moss in 1956, she stopped painting for a period of time, finally returning to her artwork during her husband's prolonged illness. After his death, Emma Lee remarried and moved to San Angelo, Texas, where she lived and painted until returning to her Tennessee family in her later years. Emma Lee Moss' work was exhibited in "Spiritied Journeys: Self-Taught Texas Artists of the Twentieth Century" and is included in Wendy Lavitt's Animals in American Folk Art.
